Atiku Abubakar Wins ADC Presidential Ticket, Challenges Tinubu

Atiku Abubakar, the former Vice President of Nigeria, won the African Democratic Congress (ADC) presidential ticket by securing a total of 1,855,787 votes during the party's presidential primary elections. His closest rival, Rotimi Amaechi, garnered 509,397 votes, while Moham Hayatu-Deen received 180,903 votes.

Atiku's victory was confirmed after the final results were announced on Wednesday night, following a resumption of the collation process that had been adjourned. In his victory declaration, Atiku sent a strong message to President Bola Tinubu, urging him to prepare for the 2027 presidential elections, stating that he should "better pack go back Lagos." This statement came shortly after Tinubu secured the presidential ticket for the All Progressives Congress (APC) with 10,999,162 votes, defeating his only challenger, Stanlei Osifo, who received 16,503 votes.
