Kebbi PDP Rejects Endorsement of APC's Nasir Idris

The Kebbi State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has publicly disavowed reports claiming it endorsed Governor Nasir Idris of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the upcoming 2027 governorship election. This statement followed a declaration from a group of PDP stakeholders and supporters in Birnin Kebbi, led by former Chief of Army Staff Lt.

Gen. Ishaya Bamaiyi, who expressed support for Idris based on his performance in office.

PDP State Chairman Alhaji Usman Suru clarified that the declaration did not reflect the party's official stance, emphasizing that the PDP remains "one and united" and is committed to its own candidates. Suru urged party members to disregard rumors suggesting the PDP had abandoned its political platform or adopted the APC candidate.

He reiterated that the PDP has candidates for all local government areas, federal constituencies, and senatorial districts, asserting its independence as a political organization in Kebbi State.
