Kwara Governor Endorses Speaker Salihu for 2027 Election

Kwara State Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq has officially dropped his support for businessman Seriki and has instead endorsed Danladi Salihu, the current Speaker of the Kwara State House of Assembly, as his preferred candidate for the 2027 governorship election. This decision comes ahead of the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship primaries, which are scheduled to take place on Thursday.

Danladi Salihu is expected to contest the primaries representing the APC, while Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq has already secured the ticket to represent Kwara Central Senatorial District in the Nigerian Senate. The shift in support indicates a strategic move within the party as it prepares for the upcoming elections, with the outcome of the primaries expected to determine the party's candidate for the 2027 governorship election.
