Kwara PDP Names Reverend Fawenu as Deputy Candidate

The Kwara State Chapter of the People's Democratic Party (PDP) has officially unveiled Reverend Cornelius Fawenu as the deputy governorship candidate for Bolakale Kawu in the upcoming 2027 governorship elections. This announcement was made in a statement issued on Wednesday from the party's state public secretariat in Ilorin.

Fawenu's selection followed extensive consultations with party leaders and stakeholders across the three senatorial districts of Kwara State. The letter from Kawu to the state chairman of the PDP emphasized the thorough selection process and described Fawenu as a leader with proven integrity and humility.

Fawenu, who hails from Babaloma in the Ifelodun Local Government Area, is currently the Kwara South senatorial chairman of the party. He has a background in biochemistry from Ahmadu Bello University, Zaria, and has spent 23 years in ministry, promoting interfaith dialogue and peace between Muslims and Christians.

The PDP expressed confidence that the Kawu-Fawenu ticket embodies the competence and integrity needed to address the challenges facing Kwara State.
