Nenadi Usman, the National Chair of the Labour Party, announced on Wednesday during an interview that Peter Obi will not be returning to the party. She explained that the party has closed its registration in accordance with the electoral act, which prohibits accepting new entries after a certain deadline.

Usman emphasized that the Labour Party has reached significant heights during Obi's candidacy in the 2023 presidential elections, but she noted that nobody matches the momentum he brought. She reiterated that the party is committed to equity and fair play, indicating that the current situation does not allow for Obi's return.
