Mutfwang, Salihu Win APC Governorship Tickets for 2027

Caleb Mutfwang, the current Governor of Plateau State, has been declared the All Progressives Congress (APC) governorship candidate for the 2027 general elections after winning the party's primary election with 233,335 votes. He defeated his opponent, a retired military officer, who received 3,070 votes.

Mutfwang, who formally resigned from the People's Democratic Party on December 29, 2025, joined the APC on January 2, 2026. The results were announced by Plateau State APC chairman Rufu Batur, who commended the electoral committee for conducting a free and fair exercise.

In Kwara State, Yakubu Danladi Salihu emerged as the APC governorship candidate, winning the primary election with 94,990 votes. The results were announced by Musiliu Obanikoro, the chairman of the Kwara State APC governorship primary election committee.

The primary in Kwara was described as peaceful and rancor-free by Princ Sundai Fagbemi, the state APC chairman.
