Benue Governor Alia Promises Development Ahead of 2027

Rev Fr Hyaccinth Alia, the Governor of Benue State, expressed confidence that his achievements will bolster his re-election campaign in 2027. In a statement issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Kula Tersoo, on Sunday, the governor dismissed opposition criticisms, focusing instead on his administration's developmental projects.

A significant highlight is the recent Memorandum of Understanding signed with Hudson Global Ltd, aimed at attracting a $5bn investment to transform Benue's economic landscape. The governor pointed to various ongoing infrastructural projects, including road construction, improved workforce welfare, and initiatives for senior citizens.

He noted that the state government has consistently paid salaries and gratuities and established the Food Basket Bakery. Alia urged the opposition to refrain from political distractions, asserting that his administration has enhanced accountability and transparency, as evidenced by certifications from international audit firms and the restoration of Benue's creditworthiness.
