Benue Governor Rev’d Fr Alia Reports Major Achievements

Rev’d Fr Alia, the Governor of Benue State, discussed the progress made since his administration began three years ago. He highlighted the declaration of a state of emergency on road infrastructure, resulting in improved connectivity across the 23 local governments.

Alia noted the urban renewal projects and the revitalization of primary schools, where 9,700 teachers were hired to enhance education. He also addressed the state of healthcare, mentioning the revival of primary healthcare institutions and the improvement of the tertiary healthcare teaching hospital, which now attracts medical tourists.

Alia announced ongoing collaborations with U.S. subnational governments to procure medical instruments for local healthcare facilities. He acknowledged challenges, particularly insecurity, but emphasized the commitment to fulfilling promises made to the people of Benue State.
