NDC Rejects G100 Consensus Candidate Plan for 2027

Seriake Dickson, the National Leader of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), announced that the party will not abandon its presidential ticket to participate in the G100's proposal for a consensus candidate among opposition parties for the 2027 elections. During an appearance on Arise Television’s Prime Time, Dickson acknowledged the G100's consultations with various political leaders but emphasized that the NDC intends to enter the election as a distinct entity.

He expressed confidence in the strength of the NDC's presidential ticket, asserting it is capable of winning the election and appealing to voters both domestically and in the diaspora. Dickson clarified that while the NDC supports the idea of opposition cooperation, it will not surrender its political identity or ticket.

He stated, “Our position is very clear. We have the most exciting ticket... that resonates with the Nigerian people at home and abroad.” Dickson's remarks come amid efforts by opposition groups to unite against President Bola Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC).
