NDC Zones 2027 Presidential Ticket to Southern Nigeria

The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) has officially zoned its presidential ticket for the 2027 elections to Southern Nigeria. This decision was made during a national convention where a motion was proposed and subsequently approved.

Afam Victor Ogen, a member representing Ogbaru Constituency in the Anambra State House of Representatives, played a role in the motion's approval. The resolution stipulates that the presidential ticket will automatically allocate to the North after a complete four-year term.

This strategic move is expected to pave the way for Peter Obi, the former governor of Anambra State, alongside Rabiu Kwankwaso, the former governor of Kano State, who recently defected to the NDC. Both candidates are anticipated to represent the party in the upcoming presidential elections in 2027, with Obi already in the process of purchasing the party's presidential nomination form ahead of the primaries.
