PDP Zones Presidential Ticket to South for 2027 Elections

Nyesom Wike, a prominent member of the People's Democratic Party (PDP), confirmed that the party has zoned its presidential ticket to the South in preparation for the 2027 elections. This announcement was made during an inspection of the Moshood Abiola National Stadium in Abuja on a Friday night.

Wike stated that the zoning decision is part of the party's strategy to ensure balance among regions and that preparations for the upcoming convention, scheduled for March 29-30, are nearly complete. He also highlighted the PDP's ongoing efforts to reconcile aggrieved members and dismissed concerns that a Supreme Court appeal led by Tanimu Turaki would affect the convention.

Wike expressed confidence that the PDP would make a strong comeback in the 2027 general elections, asserting that the party's performance would surprise Nigerians.
