Ndume Named APC Consensus Candidate for Borno South

Ali Ndume has emerged as the consensus senatorial candidate for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the Borno South senatorial district. This decision was solidified during a primary held in Maiduguri, Borno State, where Ndume was confirmed unopposed after his main rival, Abdullahi Askira, voluntarily withdrew from the race.

Askira, who is the Deputy Speaker of the Borno State House of Assembly, made the decision to not contest for the ticket after consultations with party stakeholders in the district. Ndume expressed his appreciation to the APC stakeholders and the delegates from Borno South for their unwavering support, assuring them of his commitment to represent their interests in the National Assembly.

He also commended Askira for his loyalty to the party and urged all stakeholders to remain united as they prepare for the general elections scheduled for January 2027, where Ndume aims to secure a fifth term in the National Assembly.
