Senator Ndume Aims for Fifth Term in 2027 Elections

Senator Ali Ndume, representing Borno South Senatorial District, has announced his intention to return to the Nigerian National Assembly for a fifth term in 2027. This was disclosed by Shehu Babandi, a public affairs analyst, who noted that local youth are already advocating for Ndume's return ahead of the Progressive Congress primaries.

The youth from nine local government areas in Southern Borno are mobilizing to secure the nomination ticket for Ndume. He is recognized not only as a senator but also as a nationalist who has historically challenged executive excesses and advocated for accountability.

Ndume has been vocal in the Senate, notably raising concerns regarding the country's tax laws set to be implemented in January 2027. His previous tenure has been marked by criticism of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, showcasing his willingness to speak truth to power regardless of political repercussions.
