Borno Youths Raise N38.5m for Ndume's Senate Bid 2027

Borno youths successfully raised a total of N38.5 million to purchase Senate nomination forms for Ali Ndume, who is seeking to return to the Senate in 2027. The fundraising event took place over the weekend and was organized by Alhaji Babandi Shehu, who coordinates youth efforts in the region.

The funds were raised ahead of the May 18, 2026, date set for the All Progressives Congress (APC) to conduct its primary elections for the Senate seat. Ndume, a former chairman of the Senate Committee on Army, has been recognized for his contributions to the Borno South senatorial district, including initiatives such as the establishment of federal colleges and support for internally displaced persons.

Junaid Maiva, a senior legislative aide to Ndume, expressed gratitude for the youth's efforts, highlighting Ndume's commitment to democracy and his role in addressing executive excesses. This upcoming election will mark Ndume's fifth term in the Senate.
