Awole Opposes Automatic Tickets for Kwara South Legislators

Awole, representing the All Progressives Congress (APC), declared that no legislator in Kwara South should be granted an automatic ticket for the upcoming 2027 elections. He stressed the importance of adhering to a full democratic process, which includes screening and consultation within the party.

Awole highlighted that the political climate in Kwara South, particularly concerning the senatorial seat, is fraught with tension and uncertainty, fueled by speculation and a historical imbalance in representation. He noted that the Ibolo Ekiti bloc has enjoyed a longer tenure in the Senate compared to others, which has led to calls for equitable political adjustments.

Awole insisted that performance should be the key determinant for re-election bids, rather than entitlement. He urged the APC leadership in Kwara State to ensure transparency in the primary process and warned that any attempts to favor incumbents could deepen internal divisions.

Awole called for a shift towards merit-based politics to enhance grassroots connections ahead of the 2027 elections.
