Agbakahi Dismisses Obi's Claims of Election Plot as Baseless

Dr. Georg Agbakahi, a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), labeled Peter Obi's allegations of a conspiracy to obstruct his presidential ambitions for the 2027 elections as baseless.

Agbakahi stated that there is no credible evidence linking the federal government to any scheme aimed at preventing qualified opposition figures from participating in the elections. He argued that the claims reflect political rhetoric rather than substantiated facts.

Agbakahi emphasized the autonomy of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and its constitutional authority to regulate political parties without state interference. He noted that the ongoing legal disputes involving political parties stem from actions initiated by the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) rather than the federal government.

Agbakahi urged political actors to address legal disputes through the courts and highlighted the importance of legal compliance in maintaining a stable electoral environment.
