Oyo Alaao Declares 2027 Governorship Ambition

Oyo Alaao, a prominent chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC), formally declared his ambition to run for the governorship of Oyo State in the 2027 elections on Tuesday. His declaration took place at the Emmanuel Alayande Teacher Resource Centre in Ibadan North Local Government Area.

Alaao emphasized a four-point development agenda aimed at revitalizing the state, which includes transforming the agricultural sector, overhauling healthcare, improving education, and reforming the civil service. He highlighted his extensive experience in civil engineering and the oil and gas sector, pledging to modernize agriculture through mechanization and improved access to finance.

Alaao also promised a comprehensive health agenda that includes upgrading primary healthcare centers and revitalizing general hospitals. In education, he aims to rehabilitate school infrastructure and promote STEM education.

He urged APC leaders to prioritize credible candidates for the upcoming primaries and called for unity within the party to ensure victory in the general elections.
