PDP Rejects Alliance Proposals for 2027 Elections in Abia

The People's Democratic Party (PDP) in Abia State has officially dismissed any proposals for alliances with other political parties ahead of the 2027 elections. During a press conference at the PDP state secretariat in Umuahia, State Chairman Abraham Amah stated that the party remains a strong and formidable unit, prepared to contest the elections without seeking support from other parties.

Amah clarified that any statements suggesting an alliance do not represent the party's position, emphasizing that the PDP has successfully uploaded its candidates' names for various electoral positions to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) portal. Furthermore, Amah noted that there are no factions within the Abia PDP and reiterated the party's commitment to reconciling grievances from primary election aspirants.

Additionally, PDP governorship candidate Kelechi Anosike criticized the Abia State government for its salary payment system, alleging that civil servants are not receiving the minimum wage of N70,000.
