PDP Chairmen Urge Jonathan to Reject Turaki Faction

The Forum of State Chairmen of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) convened a press conference in Abuja, where they urged former President Goodluck Jonathan to publicly distance himself from the Tanimu Turaki-led faction. The chairmen expressed concerns over alleged attempts by expelled members to create confusion regarding the party's leadership ahead of the 2027 general elections.

They accused the Turaki group of impersonation and criminal forgery, despite court rulings affirming the legitimacy of the current PDP leadership under National Chairman Hon. Abdulrahman Mohammed and National Secretary Senator Samuel Nnaemeka Anyanwu. The forum called on security agencies to investigate these allegations and warned that the actions of the Turaki group threaten public order.

They also requested that Jonathan clarify his position to protect his reputation, as his name was reportedly used without consent in submissions to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). Additionally, the chairmen urged the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, to investigate the use of an office complex in Abuja for activities that could disrupt public peace.
