Peter Obi Endorses Seyi Makinde for Presidency

Peter Obi, the presidential candidate of the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), publicly endorsed Seyi Makinde, his counterpart from the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), as qualified to be President of Nigeria. This endorsement occurred during the inauguration of Makinde’s presidential campaign office in Abuja.

Obi expressed his readiness to collaborate with any candidate who emerges victorious in a free and fair election, emphasizing the need to unite to prevent Nigeria's collapse. He stated, “We want a Nigeria of unity, inclusion; we have a candidate who is contesting for President today, my dear brother Makinde.

Is he qualified to be President? Yes, he is qualified.” Obi called for a shift away from divisive politics, urging politicians to focus on addressing the needs of the populace, particularly the hunger and poverty affecting many Nigerians.

He reiterated the importance of a credible electoral process and the necessity for collective efforts to build a better Nigeria.
