Uche Rochas Claims Peter Obi Will Miss 2027 Ballot

Uche Rochas, a Nigerian businessman, stated that Peter Obi will not appear on any ballot in the upcoming 2027 general elections. This assertion comes in light of a recent ruling by a Federal High Court in Lokoja, which set aside an earlier judgment that directed the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to register the National Democratic Congress (NDC).

The court's decision, delivered by Justice Isah Dashen, has sparked controversy and backlash, particularly from opposition parties who accuse President Bola Tinubu's administration of attempting to undermine the NDC's participation in the elections. Rochas expressed that Obi's absence from the ballot would lead to disappointment among his supporters, stating, "Peter Obi will not ballot 2027 general elect will certainly miss." He further criticized the NDC for not refunding resources spent by its members, indicating a lack of accountability within the party.
