Plateau Tertiary Institutions Support Tinubu, Mutfwang 2027

On Friday, staff from various tertiary institutions in Plateau State launched a platform to support the re-election bids of President Bola Tinubu and Governor Caleb Mutfwang in 2027. The initiative, named "Plateau Academ Tinubu Mutfwang 2027," aims to engage the academic community, which includes approximately 15,000 academic staff and 30,000 non-teaching staff, in meaningful political development.

Augustin Azi, an associate professor and head of the Department of Social Sciences Education at the University of Jos, emphasized the importance of the academic community's participation in shaping policies that influence society. The platform seeks to promote intellectual advocacy and evidence-based evaluation of leadership, rather than mere political endorsements.

Lazaru Maigoro, provost of the College of Education Gindiri, praised Mutfwang's commitment to tertiary education and the approval of funds for the accreditation of ad hoc staff. Jeremiah Satmark, chief of staff to the governor, described the initiative as encouraging and reflective of the academic community's support for the governor's efforts in development projects.
