Lagos Police Assure INEC of Security for 2027 Elections

On Wednesday, the Lagos State Police Command reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring maximum security for the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) ahead of the 2027 general elections. This assurance was communicated during a courtesy visit to the police command headquarters in Ikeja by an INEC delegation led by Abayomi Salami, the Lagos State Resident Electoral Commissioner.

Salami congratulated Tijani Fatai on his recent appointment as the Commissioner of Police and requested continued collaboration and support from the police command in preparation for the upcoming elections. The statement from the police emphasized the importance of inter-agency cooperation to maintain peace and order during the electoral process.

The police command expressed readiness to provide adequate security support and responded positively to INEC's requests, highlighting their constitutional responsibility to ensure a peaceful, free, and credible electoral process across Lagos State.
