INEC and Lagos Police Enhance Partnership for 2027 Elections

The Lagos State Police Command has reaffirmed its commitment to collaborate with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to ensure peaceful and credible elections in Lagos State ahead of the 2027 general elections. This was disclosed in a statement issued on Wednesday by SP Abimbola Adebisi, following a courtesy visit to the INEC Command Headquarters in Ikeja.

During the visit, CP Tijani Fatai received a delegation from INEC led by Prof. Abayomi Salami, the Lagos State Resident Electoral Commissioner.

Prof. Salami congratulated CP Fatai on his recent appointment and expressed the need for continued partnership and support from the police in preparation for the upcoming elections.

The statement emphasized the importance of sustained collaboration between the electoral body and security agencies to guarantee peaceful, free, and fair elections across the state. CP Fatai stressed the relevance of inter-agency synergy to strengthen democratic governance and boost public confidence in the electoral process, assuring that the Lagos State Police Command is ready to provide necessary security support within the confines of the law.
