Wike Promises Success for Rainbow Coalition in 2027 Elections

On Monday, Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, announced that candidates under the Rainbow Coalition in Rivers State will be returned in the upcoming 2027 general elections. This statement was made during a civic reception held in his honor by the Rainbow Coalition in Ikwerre Local Government Area.

Wike expressed gratitude to the Ikwerre community for their unwavering support during his governorship campaign, especially when others hesitated to back him due to the then-sitting governor, Chief Rotimi Chibuike Ameachi. He emphasized the importance of loyalty and support during challenging times, referencing Ameachi's lack of engagement with the Ikwerre people in terms of human capital development.

Wike also noted that since President Tinubu took office, an Ikwerre individual was appointed as vice-chancellor, alongside several other appointments of Rivers indigenes to significant positions.
