Adebayo Unveils SDP Economic Policy, Challenges Tinubu

On Tuesday in Abuja, Prince Adewole Adebayo, the presidential candidate of the Social Democratic Party (SDP) for the 2027 general elections, unveiled the party's policy document titled “Farewell to Poverty and Insecurity.” Adebayo asserted that a determined government could transform Nigeria within four years, urging voters to reject the current political climate he described as “politics of comedy and clowning.” He emphasized that the SDP's document serves as a comprehensive blueprint to address Nigeria's security, economic, and infrastructure challenges. Adebayo challenged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to a public debate, demanding accountability for his administration's financial decisions, particularly regarding funds saved from the removal of the petrol subsidy and expenditures on security and electricity.

He criticized the Central Bank of Nigeria for failing to protect the naira and generate employment, alleging mismanagement of public resources. Adebayo proposed that an SDP government would combine military action with socio-economic interventions to tackle the root causes of crime and insecurity.
