Southern Borno ADC Endorses Durkwa for Senate 2027

The Southern Borno chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has officially endorsed Alhaji Idri Durkwa to challenge the incumbent Senator Mohammed Ali Ndume of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for the Senate seat in the 2027 elections. This endorsement took place during a stakeholders' roundtable meeting held at the Biu Summit Hotel, where the new executive leadership, led by Hon.

Ezekiel Ishaya Bwala, gathered to discuss the party's strategy for electoral success in the Southern Borno senatorial district. The meeting saw a large turnout of members and was marked by the unanimous decision to support Durkwa, following extensive consultations with traditional rulers, political actors, youth groups, and community representatives across the nine local government areas of Southern Borno, including Biu, Hawul, Askira Uba, Shani, Damboa, Chibok, Bayo, and Kwaya Kusar.

Hon. Bwala expressed gratitude for the support and emphasized the need for unity within the party.

Durkwa, in response, thanked the stakeholders for their endorsement and expressed his commitment to contesting on the ADC platform.
