Northern Youths Demand Respect for Power Rotation Agreement

Northern youths, represented by Sama Musa, the National Chairman of the Northern Youth Frontier, have called on politicians in the region to uphold the established agreement on the rotation of power between the North and South. They specifically cautioned former Vice President Atiku Abubakar against attempts to disrupt this arrangement for personal political gain.

Musa stated that discussions are ongoing with political leaders and stakeholders in Northern Nigeria in preparation for the 2031 presidential election. He emphasized that the North is committed to waiting until 2031 for its next presidential term, asserting that power rotation is meant to serve regional unity rather than individual ambitions.

The youths criticized elected politicians from the North who they believe are trying to create division among citizens to further their interests, reiterating that the presidency should reflect regional representation, not personal agendas.
