Atiku Abubakar Warns of Plot Against ADC for 2027 Elections

Atiku Abubakar, the former Vice President of Nigeria, expressed serious concerns regarding a renewed effort to exclude the African Democratic Congress (ADC) from participating in the 2027 general elections. In a statement issued by his Senior Special Assistant on Public Communication, Phrank Shaibu, Abubakar described these attempts as coordinated efforts by desperate elements within the ruling party to manipulate the democratic process and deny Nigerians their right to freely choose their next president.

He noted that credible information indicated that there are ongoing political and legal maneuvers aimed at sowing confusion within the opposition, specifically targeting the ADC, which he believes represents a credible alternative for Nigerians. Abubakar called on all Nigerians, not just ADC members, to rise in defense of democracy and reject these manipulative tactics.

He emphasized that the ADC has overwhelming support across the country and warned that any attempt to prevent its participation in the electoral process would constitute a grave assault on Nigeria's constitutional democracy.
