ADC Plans to Safeguard Votes Ahead of 2027 Elections

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has announced its intention to prevent vote rigging in the upcoming 2027 general elections, emphasizing that it will not rely solely on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC). The party has selected former Vice President Atiku Abubakar as its presidential candidate, who will compete against President Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) and Peter Obi of the Nigerian Democratic Congress (NDC).

Bolaji Abdullahi, the ADC’s National Publicity Secretary, stated that while some INEC officials are committed to credible elections, the party will implement additional measures to protect its votes, citing disappointment with the 2023 elections. Abdullahi hinted at undisclosed strategies to safeguard votes, asserting that the ADC has a plan in place.

He also reported a successful turnout during a recent walk-to-rule exercise in Ilorin, Kwara State, aimed at raising awareness about the ADC, which exceeded expectations despite financial constraints. Abdullahi urged residents to support the ADC, promising improvements in socio-economic conditions under an ADC-led government.
