Umeh Accuses PMP of Blocking NDC from 2027 Elections

Victor Umeh, a lawmaker representing Anambra Central Senatorial District, alleged that the Peace Movement Party (PMP) is attempting to block the Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) from participating in the 2027 general elections. Umeh made these claims during an interview on Arise Television, asserting that the NDC's logo does not belong to the PMP.

He noted that the NDC had already registered five months prior and plans to file an application on May 4 to seek the annulment of the PMP's registration. Umeh emphasized that once a political party is registered with the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), its symbol becomes exclusive to that party.

He referenced a directive from the Federal High Court in Lokoja, Kogi State, which ordered INEC to register the NDC as a political party.
