NDC Claims Peace Movement Party Does Not Exist

The Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC), represented by Ikenna Enekweizu, asserted that the Peace Movement Party (PMP) does not exist, referencing a Federal High Court ruling in Lokoja, Kogi State. The court set aside an earlier judgment that directed the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to register the PMP.

Enekweizu emphasized that the court had established that the PMP was not among the political parties registered with INEC. He noted that the court's judgment indicated that there were no valid grounds for the PMP's registration, as it failed to meet the necessary requirements.

The NDC's legal action was prompted by the PMP's claim that its logo resembled that of the All Progressives Congress (APC), which was cited as a reason for INEC's refusal to register the party. The court concluded that the PMP was non-existent and therefore could not be registered.
