Dalung Labels Tinubu 'Most Unserious' for 2027 Elections

Solomon Dalung, the former Minister of Youth and Sports, described President Bola Tinubu as the "most unserious person" in the context of the upcoming 2027 presidential elections. In an interview on a podcast, Dalung stated that Tinubu's support among Nigerians is currently at only 14 percent, indicating a lack of seriousness in his presidential candidacy.

He emphasized that Tinubu underestimates the potential for a united opposition, which includes parties such as the APC, NDC, ADC, and PDP. Dalung warned that the failures of the past, particularly regarding insecurity and economic frustration, could lead to a repeat of the 2023 elections, where Tinubu's strategies may not yield success.

He asserted that the political landscape is shifting and that Tinubu has not learned from previous lessons, which could result in significant challenges for his campaign in 2027.
