Dalung Critiques Tinubu's 2027 Election Strategy

Solomon Dalung, who served as the Minister of Sports under former President Muhammadu Buhari, stated that President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is "working very hard" to lose the 2027 presidential election. Dalung expressed concerns that the current administration risks losing public support due to worsening economic conditions and insecurity in Nigeria.

He noted that incumbents often lose elections not because of a stronger opposition but due to a disconnection from the populace. Dalung highlighted that many Nigerians are facing rising living costs, unemployment, and insecurity, which will influence their voting decisions.

He warned that every painful experience could create a "silent voter" and that broken promises could lead to silent opposition. He urged the Tinubu administration to focus on addressing economic and security challenges rather than political realignments, stating that the government must earn public goodwill through effective policies.

Dalung concluded that the realities faced by ordinary Nigerians outweigh any political rhetoric.
