Keyamo Mocks ADC After Obi's Defection to NDC

Festus Keyamo, a prominent political figure, criticized the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in light of Peter Obi's recent defection to the New Democratic Congress (NDC). Keyamo used an analogy comparing the political fallout to a failed romantic relationship, suggesting that Obi, the former governor of Anambra State, left the ADC because it could not secure a presidential commitment.

He described the ADC as a disappointing suitor, unable to provide the necessary assurances to Obi, who he portrayed as a high-value candidate. Obi resigned from the ADC on Saturday, citing unresolved internal disputes and ongoing legal battles within the party as reasons for his departure, particularly as the 2027 general elections approach.

Additionally, Keyamo referenced the recent defection of former Kano State Governor Rabiu Kwankwaso to the NDC, indicating a broader trend of political realignment in Nigeria.
