APC Urges INEC to Deregister ADC Ahead of 2027 Elections

The All Progressives Congress (APC), represented by Ajibola Basiru, has called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to deregister the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in preparation for the 2027 elections. In an interview on Arise Television, Basiru articulated the party's concern regarding the clustering of ballot papers, which could arise from the presence of non-viable political parties.

He emphasized that there are currently 19 registered political parties in Nigeria, and he maintained that the rules governing political party registration are bound by Nigerian law. Basiru's statements reflect the APC's strategic approach to streamline the electoral process and enhance the viability of participating parties in the upcoming elections.
