INEC: 100% Perfect Election by 2027 May Not Be Feasible

During a town hall meeting on the Electoral Act held in Abuja, the Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof. Joash Amupitan, addressed concerns regarding the feasibility of achieving a 100% perfect election in Nigeria by the year 2027.

He acknowledged that while INEC is committed to striving for the best electoral outcomes, it may not be able to ensure perfection due to ongoing challenges, particularly issues related to network adequacy that affect the transmission of election results. Amupitan urged Nigerians to recognize the complexities involved in the electoral process and expressed the commission's dedication to improving the electoral system, despite the limitations currently faced.
