Presidency Confident Against Peter Obi in 2027 Elections

The Presidency, through Sundai Dare, Special Adviser to the President on Media and Publicity, expressed confidence in the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, dismissing claims that Peter Obi, a member of the Nigerian Democratic Party, poses a political threat ahead of the 2027 general elections. During an interview with Seun Okinbaloye, Dare emphasized that the Tinubu administration is focused on governance and has made significant progress in addressing the country's key challenges.

He stated that Peter Obi is not a "nightmare" for the government, suggesting that while Obi may be perceived as a nuisance, he does not pose a substantial threat. Dare also reflected on Obi's previous electoral defeat in Lagos during the 2023 presidential election, asserting that a repeat of that success is unlikely in 2026.

The comments were made in the context of the administration's confidence in its performance and the policies implemented to tackle national issues.
