Melaye Challenges Adedeji's Dual Role in Tinubu's Campaign

Dino Melaye, a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), stated that Zacch Adedeji, the Executive Chairman of the Nigeria Revenue Service (NRS), cannot hold the position of Deputy Director of Fundraising for President Bola Tinubu’s 2027 presidential campaign. In an interview on Arise Television’s Prime Time, Melaye argued that Adedeji's dual role indicates Tinubu's desperation and suggests that this was the motive behind Adedeji's earlier appointment as NRS chairman, which was confirmed by the Senate.

Melaye emphasized that the NRS chairman must comply with public service rules and laws, declaring his intention to challenge Adedeji's appointment in court to expose what he termed the desperation of Tinubu and the All Progressives Congress (APC). He criticized the current administration's approach, claiming it reflects a lack of seriousness and integrity, and mentioned that the President had suspended a list of appointments following public outcry.
