Zacch Adedeji's appointment to President Bola Tinubu's 2027 campaign structure has drawn legal threats from Dino Melaye, the former Kogi West senator and African Democratic Congress figure. In his capacity as Nigeria Revenue Service chairman, Adedeji was named Deputy Director of Fundraising for the All Progressives Congress Presidential Campaign Council—a dual role that Melaye disputes.

Melaye communicated his objections via video posted Sunday on his X account, alleging that the arrangement creates a conflict of interest. He contended that managing national revenue collection as a serving public official while simultaneously fundraising for a political party represents an inappropriate overlap of responsibilities.

Court action was threatened to commence the following Monday. Beyond Adedeji's specific placement, Melaye's concerns extend to the campaign's structural design.

He questioned whether Tinubu, as the APC's presidential nominee, should also function as his own campaign council's chairman. This broader critique suggests Melaye views systemic issues within the campaign's governance architecture, not merely personnel matters.
