Melaye to Sue Tinubu Over Adedeji's Campaign Role

Dino Melaye, a chieftain of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) in Kogi State, has publicly condemned the appointment of Zacch Adedeji, the chairman of the Nigerian Revenue Service (NRS), to a fundraising position within President Bola Tinubu’s campaign council. Melaye expressed his concerns on his 𝕏 account, arguing that this appointment poses a conflict of interest since Adedeji is a public official responsible for revenue collection.

He stated, “The chairman of FIRS is the deputy director in charge of fundraising of presidential campaign of Tinubu,” questioning the appropriateness of such a dual role. Melaye announced his intention to take legal action, stating, “On Monday I’m going to court.

We have to test that.” He also criticized the size and structure of the campaign council, labeling it “very, very, very bogus” and alleging duplications in committees and positions. Melaye emphasized that public officials must adhere to the Public Service Rules and vowed to continue opposing Tinubu’s re-election bid, declaring, “the battle to stop Tinubu is a battle of no retreat, no surrender.”.
