Atiku Abubakar Positioned to Challenge Tinubu in 2027

Comrade Austin Usman Okai, a public commentator and activist, asserted that former Vice President Atiku Abubakar is best positioned to challenge President Bola Tinubu in the upcoming 2027 presidential election. Speaking on The Morning Show on TVC Television, Okai analyzed Nigeria's political landscape, highlighting the Tinubu administration's growing public criticism due to rising living costs, persistent inflation, and declining purchasing power.

He noted that the government's economic reforms, including the removal of fuel subsidies and unification of the foreign exchange market, have intensified hardships for many Nigerians. Okai expressed concern over the shrinking political space for opposition parties and alleged intimidation of political opponents.

He emphasized that if opposition leaders can unite around a common vision, Atiku could emerge as Tinubu's strongest challenger. Okai also recognized the African Democratic Congress (ADC) as a significant emerging political force and welcomed the Court of Appeal's decision that reinstated the ADC and four other parties, viewing it as a victory for democracy.
