174 Candidates from 12 Parties for Ekiti Assembly Election

According to documents released by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) from its Ekiti State office, 12 political parties have presented a total of 174 candidates for the 2027 Ekiti State House of Assembly election. The figures, detailed in a document signed by Ekiti State Legal Officer I, Sina Ogundana, indicate that while some parties have fielded candidates in all 26 constituencies, others are contesting fewer seats.

The African Democratic Congress (ADC), the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), National Democratic Congress (NDC), New Nigeria Democratic Party (NNPP), and Social Democratic Party (SDP) have emerged as the parties with the most extensive candidate representation, each presenting candidates for all 26 seats. Other parties include the Action Peoples Movement (APM) with 19 candidates, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) with eight, and the Labour Party (LP) with five.

The election is expected to foster significant political competition across the state’s 16 local government areas.
