13 Parties Set for Kwara Governorship Election in 2027

The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announced that 13 political parties will participate in the Kwara State governorship election during the 2027 general elections. The candidates and their running mates were displayed at INEC's state headquarters in Ilorin.

The African Democratic Congress (ADC) has selected Zakari Mohammed from the Baruten/Kaiama Federal Constituency as its governorship candidate, with Elder Olawuyi Julius Olayide from Offa Local Government Area as his running mate. The Allied Peoples Movement (APM) is fielding Oluwole Tolu, 37, from Ekiti Local Government Area, with Jaiyeola Motunrayo Deborah as his running mate.

The All Progressives Congress (APC) has Engineer Yakubu Danladi Salihu, the Speaker of the State House of Assembly, as its candidate, with Bello Mubarak Salau as his running mate. The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) will contest with Engineer Kale Kawu as its candidate and Rev. Cornelius Fawenu as his running mate.

Other parties include the Nigeria Democratic Congress, New Nigeria Peoples Party, National Democratic Party, Action Peoples Party, Accord, Action Alliance, All Progressives Grand Alliance, and Social Democratic Party.
