Nigeria's Bid for 2031 African Games Under Evaluation

The bid evaluation team for the 2031 African Games arrived in Nigeria on Monday, marking a significant step in the nation's quest to host the event. The delegation, led by Dr.

Deciu Chipand, was received by top officials from the Nigerian Sports Commission (NSC). Chairman Mallam Shehu Dikko emphasized the federal government's strong support for the bid, highlighting the priority of hosting the African Games and the commitment to deliver world-class infrastructure.

The Director General of the NSC, Hon. Bukola Olopade, presented Nigeria's strategic sponsorship market framework, outlining innovative approaches for commercial partnerships.

The evaluation committee commended Nigeria's comprehensive welfare framework and readiness to provide a safe environment for athletes. The team commenced inspections of key facilities on Monday and will continue assessments on Tuesday.
