US Plans Bid to Host 2038 FIFA World Cup

The United States is moving forward with plans to bid for the 2038 FIFA World Cup, as announced by Andrew Giuliani, the Executive Director of the White House's World Cup Task Force. This initiative follows the U.S.'s successful co-hosting of the 2026 World Cup alongside Canada and Mexico, which saw an expansion of the tournament from 32 to 48 teams.

There is also consideration for a further expansion to 64 teams as early as the 2030 tournament. The 2030 World Cup will feature matches in Spain, Portugal, and Morocco, while the 2034 tournament is set to be hosted by Saudi Arabia.

The 2038 World Cup bid process will commence after the 2030 tournament, marking a significant step for the U.S. in international football hosting.
