23-Year-Old Becomes New Traditional Ruler in Delta State

Prince Daniel Afamefune Chukwujindu, a 23-year-old Microbiology undergraduate at Delta State University, was formally installed as the 11th Ajeh of Ekwuoma on Thursday, succeeding his late father, King Chinedu Samuel Chukwujindu, who was the 10th Ajeh. Daniel assumed the royal title of Ezeagu-Ukpo II following the completion of his father's burial rites.

His emergence as monarch adhered to the traditional succession system of primogeniture, which has been practiced in Ekwuoma for nearly 400 years. The installation ceremony was attended by traditional rulers, chiefs, community leaders, government representatives, and well-wishers.

In his address, Daniel expressed gratitude to the community for their acceptance and pledged to uphold the customs and traditions of Ekwuoma, promoting peace, unity, and development. Chief Ernest Njokede, Chairman of the Council of Chiefs, congratulated Daniel and prayed for his success in leadership while urging the community to support him and preserve the legacy of the late king.
