25-Year-Old Student Commits Suicide After Abortions

Ifeoma Ejiofor, a 25-year-old female student, committed suicide in Commercial Town, Onitsha, Anambra State. The Anambra State Police Commissioner, Ikioy Orutugu, commented on the tragic incident, expressing deep concern over the increasing levels of moral decay in society.

He noted that Ejiofor had undergone three abortions for an unidentified man named Chigozi, and a disturbing suicide message was recovered from the scene. The police are conducting an investigation to determine the exact circumstances surrounding her death.

Orutugu emphasized the urgent need for stronger parental guidance, emotional support systems, and open communication to address the challenges faced by young people. He urged community leaders, educational institutions, and faith-based organizations to intensify advocacy and mentorship programs to promote positive values among youth.

The case has been transferred to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Awka for a thorough investigation.
