Nursing Student Ifeoma Ejiofor Found Dead in Anambra

Ifeoma Ejiofor, a 23-year-old nursing student, was discovered dead in her residence in Alor, Idemili South Local Government Area, Anambra State. The Anambra State Police Public Relations Officer, Tochukwu Ikenga, confirmed the incident in a press statement on Thursday.

The police were alerted on June 14, 2026, when her lifeless body was found with visible signs of violence, including deep cuts on her thigh and blood stains around the scene, suggesting murder. The case has been transferred to the Nnobi Division Police Headquarters and the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) in Awka for a comprehensive investigation.

The landlord of the premises has been taken into custody and is undergoing interrogation as part of the ongoing investigation. The Commissioner of Police, Ikioy Orutugu, has ordered a thorough investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident, ensuring that anyone found culpable will be brought to justice.

The deceased's body has been deposited at a hospital mortuary for autopsy.
