2,700 IDPs in Benue Receive Health Coverage Support

The Benue State Health Insurance Agency (BNSHIA) has enrolled 2,700 vulnerable individuals, including internally displaced persons (IDPs) and host community members, in a health coverage initiative. This program, part of the "Renew Hope" initiative supported by First Lady Oluremi Tinubu, aims to provide free medical services and health insurance coverage to these vulnerable populations.

Kenneth Korv, the Executive Secretary of BNSHIA, noted that this enrollment exercise is a significant milestone that will reduce out-of-pocket medical expenses for beneficiaries. Governor Hyacinth Alia expressed commitment to improving healthcare for the people of Benue State.

Yakubu Ochokwunu, the state coordinator of the National Health Insurance Authority, commended the collaboration between federal and state governments to ensure quality healthcare for vulnerable populations. Bako Emmanuel, camp manager of the Naka IDP Camp, conveyed gratitude on behalf of the beneficiaries for the support received from the First Lady and the Governor, highlighting the relief it brings to families struggling with medical attention.
